Today I felt like writing this :
<a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show
These are a few words about Teacher Man, the third volume of Franck McCourt trilogy. I didn't know he had died two years ago. He was quite young, only 78 years old when he passed away.
I enjoyed that book, even if I had mixed feelings about it.

Estival Festival!
Festivals are always a good spot to mingle, socialize and get useful contacts.
If you love fantasy, and everything related to imagination, and above all if you get a chance to be in Paris for this summer, why not attend to the Festival du Film Merveilleux.
It is a very friendly festival, which takes place in Paris, from the 30th of June to the 2nd of July. This is the second edition of this festival. Good news, the entrance is free.
If you like to show one of your short film in the festival, there is still time. The deadline to submit a film is the 9th of May. Here's the link:http://talulah.wifeo.com/documents/Reglement-festival-international-du-film-merveilleux2011.pdf.
Oh, and here's the link for the entry form :http://talulah.wifeo.com/documents/entrieformmerveilleux2011.pdf.

What about writing contests?
You might wonder how writing poetry can help your writing, especially if your main interest is writing screenplays. No matter the genre, the more you write, the better you write.
Emile Zola, the French novelist had a very special way to put this idea into words.
His motto was Nulla dies sine Linea, which can be translated by " Not a day without writing a line".
He did not say without writing many lines, no, just one single line can be fine. Your writing skills are like a muscle that needs to be keep nice and fine. Exercicing is thus preponderant. You can get any kind of exercices you want. For instance, why not take a pause from your daily writing routine and take part to a writing contest?
If you do not have the luxury of time, you can try out a poetry contest. There are so many contests over the net. Why not trying to enter the one who suits you best? Sometimes, you can win a money prize or just your name printed on some book, with the faint hope of eventual royalties. So, why not give it a try?http://theartilleryofwords.weebly.com/competitions.html

Daydreaming, fuel for writing?
Many writers spend too much time browsing the web in search of new writing gigs. Are you one of them? Do you belong to this peculiar kind of writers who daydream in front of their computers, musing over an hypothetic perfect writing job? If this is your case, don't you worry. There is nothing wrong with daydreaming.
If you're not convinced and you feel like worrying all the same, for sure a lot of questions might be flying through your minds.
How to avoid the occasional daydreaming? Why am I daydreaming instead of polishing my writing? Why am I searching relentlessly the writing gigs ads when I am not really sure to apply to any of them?
Who has the answers to all these questions?
Maybe this daydreaming session is unavoidable. Maybe these idle reveries help you to fire up your imagination.
Anyway, never feel guilty about daydreaming. Daydreaming is a special place where your imagination can get nurtured.

POINT. RATURE. Journey of a scribbler.
There are so many night scribblers out there. What is a night scribbler? Well, a writer who writes at night?
Why did I choose "POINT.RATURE"? Well, that's why writing is all about: REWRITING. Plus, anything in French sounds fancy. Try to say "île flottante" and you immediately sounds like a gourmet chef.
What is the point of yet another blog about writing? The point is quite obvious here, I will have to force myself to write. If I can share thoughts or even infos with fellow storytellers out there, good for me and good for you. There are tons of writing gigs out there, so let's share.
If you caught the virus of writing in an early age, you eventually have to find a cure, and this cure lies in writing even more and put your writings out there. Then, come what may.
